Madeline James

Madeline James BA LLB

Madeline was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia on 4 March 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) and Arts (BA) with a major in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle.

Madeline previously case managed files for the State Administrative Tribunal within the Human Rights stream, which included work under the Guardianship and Administration Act.

Before the State Administrative Tribunal, Madeline worked in the Probate Registry acting as an associate to various registrars in the Supreme Court of Western Australia. This included reviewing on Probate applications and management of foreign documents of both domestic and international services.

Madeline has acted as Junior Counsel in Coronial Inquests. She would on occasion provide research and policy advice for preventative death measures.

Madeline is a keen netball player and novice gardener. She also volunteers as a coach for junior netball teams and enjoys watching Australian Rules Football.
