Dear Followers,
We have applied to the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia to be accredited to provide CPD (continuing professional development) courses for 2022. The CPD events will be free, will include food (perhaps pizza from Alfreds, Conti rolls, or Banh mi from le Vietnam) and “other refreshments” to keep people focussed. At the conclusion of the one-hour CPD seminar, legal practitioners will be issued with a CPD certificate for use towards their mandatory CPD requirements.
The 2022 CPD programme and networking event will be run on a quarterly basis and will consider aspects of succession law, matter management, risk management, cost issues, and the oxymoronic concept of legal ethics. Some of these presentations will review case law and legislative updates, other seminars will have an applied law focus and will workshop problem-based scenarios.
The chosen topics will be relevant to other practice areas (like family law) and to other industries (accounting, financial advisory). Our first CPD session is planned for March 2022 and will discuss ‘The efficacy of binding financial agreements in contracting out of claims under the Family Provision Act 1972 (WA)’
If you have a specific topic that you would like us to present on, have a food or beverage suggestion, or simply wish to get involved, please do not hesitate in contacting us. Your firm’s staff and clients are welcome to attend.
